HUNDLEY DR & SHADY SHORES RD
CONSTRUCTION UPDATES
DDM Construction Corp is delivering critical infrastructure improvements at Hundley Dr & Shady Shores Rd in Lake Dallas. Work includes new water lines, sanitary sewer lines, and storm drainage along Hundley Dr, Shady Shores Rd, and Beck Ave.
Construction is anticipated March 2026 through March 2028 and will occur in phases, so not all areas will experience construction at the same time. Updates will be posted as each phase begins.

Hundley Dr Partially Open!!
As of this today, Hundley Dr is open to one-way Westbound traffic from Lakeview Dr to Lake Dallas Dr. Once we have cure strength on the South side of Hundley Dr, Hundley Dr will resume two-way traffic between Lakeview Dr and Shady Shores Rd. We anticipate this to happen next Monday (8/17/2026).
West Hundley will remain one-way Westbound from Shady Shores Rd to Lake Dallas Dr until utilities and paving are completed in the stretch of Hundley Dr. This is anticipated for end of October (weather-dependent).
Utilities have officially started on Beck Ave. Beck Ave will be under construction from now until end of November (weather-dependent).
The next large phase of construction will be Shady Shores (from Main St to Hundley Dr) starting tentatively 9/2/2026.
Traffic Changes Upcoming
- Night work storm installation will start on 8/17, lasting for 1 week, while we complete the storm sewer installation on Hundley Dr between Shady Shores Rd & Lake Dallas Dr.
- Beck Ave access will be restricted over the next 3 months while utilities and paving work is taking place. Traffic will still be allowed in and out, we just asking that residents refrain from parking on the street so that there is an accessible driving lane.
- Outside of scheduled nightly changes (above), Hundley Dr will remain one-way Westbound traffic between Shady Shores Rd and Lake Dallas Dr.
- Once Shady Shores Rd construction begins, traffic will be limited to one-way. More details will follow once this next phase of construction is firmed up.
Traffic Control Plan
Hundley Dr is currently undergoing construction, necessitating strict traffic control measures and detours. Current detour routes utilize Swisher Rd and Main Street to bypass Hundley. Hundley is fully closed between Atchison Dr and Shady Shores Rd, and one-way Westbound between Shady Shores Rd and Lake Dallas Dr. We recommend that commuters plan for an additional 5-10 minutes of travel time during peak hours.
