HUNDLEY DR & SHADY SHORES RD
CONSTRUCTION UPDATES
DDM Construction Corp is delivering critical infrastructure improvements at Hundley Dr & Shady Shores Rd in Lake Dallas. Work includes new water lines, sanitary sewer lines, and storm drainage along Hundley Dr, Shady Shores Rd, and Beck Ave.
Construction is anticipated March 2026 through March 2028 and will occur in phases, so not all areas will experience construction at the same time. Updates will be posted as each phase begins.

Hundley Dr Construction Update
Hundley Dr has been fully closed to traffic between Atchison Dr and Shady Shores Rd since 6/3/26. At this time, all sanitary sewer work has been completed, water tie-ins and final connections are taking place {see below for further details on this}, and storm sewer installation is wrapping up.
The next big phase we are entering now is the earthwork and paving phase. This week we began excavation to drop Hundley Dr to its new elevation. By the end of next week, concrete paving operations will begin. Our goal has been to have Hundley Dr open to traffic by the start of school (August 12th) and this is still our goal and expectation, despite the rain delays!
Traffic Changes Upcoming

Overnight on 7/22 (8 PM to 6 AM) and 7/23 (8 PM to 6 AM) the intersection of Shady Shores & Hundley will be fully closed while we complete all underground utility installation in the intersection. During these overnight hours, traffic that needs to get onto Hundley between Shady Shores & Lake Dallas Dr (the railroad tracks) will be able to access from Lake Dallas Dr.

Hundley Dr will remain closed between Atchison Dr & Shady Shores Rd until concrete paving completion, scheduled for the week of August 10th.

Outside of scheduled nightly changes (above), Hundley Dr will remain one-way Westbound traffic between Shady Shores Rd and Lake Dallas Dr.

Night work storm installation will start on 7/27, lasting for 2 weeks, while we complete the storm sewer installation on Hundley Dr between Shady Shores Rd & Lake Dallas Dr.
Water Tie-Ins Remaining

Overnight on 7/26 (10 PM to 6 AM), the new water line on Hundley Dr will be tied into the South side of Shady Shores Rd. This tie-in will put all businesses/residents between Hundley Dr and Main St out of water during those hours.

Overnight on 7/28 (10 PM to 6 AM), the new water line on Hundley Dr will be tied into the North side of Shady Shores Rd. This tie-in will put all businesses/residents between Hundley Dr and Overly Dr (including Lake Haven Estates Mobile Home Park) out of water during those hours.
Traffic Control Plan
Hundley Dr is currently undergoing construction, necessitating strict traffic control measures and detours. Current detour routes utilize Swisher Rd and Main Street to bypass Hundley. Hundley is fully closed between Atchison Dr and Shady Shores Rd, and one-way Westbound between Shady Shores Rd and Lake Dallas Dr. We recommend that commuters plan for an additional 5-10 minutes of travel time during peak hours.
